Problem Statement

Alkami's navigation since the beginning has been a drawer of 'widgets' which worked fine when the platform was younger, but today there's over 100 widgets financial institutions could configure to appear in the navigation. Widgets gone wild! We also needed a self-serve solution for clients to manage navigation structures on their own.

Solution

Using the concept of 'buckets' we created a navigation builder that allows for clients to use the default menu, or customize as many menus as needed across their user segments (retail, business, youth, etc.).
